This coffee was inspired the 959's that took place during the legendary Paris-Dakar rally of 1986. The 959 Rally Cars were unique in that they were incredibly technical and refined cars that took on some of the most remote and challenging terrain in Africa. Inspired by this dichotomy, we created a coffee that is robust enough to work great in a French Press, yet still maintain it's refined notes with more basic brew methods. In honor of the 2018 Paris-Dakar, we selected beans from Peru.
The 959 was developed under the name “Gruppe B”, Helmuth Bott led the 959 project in an effort to convince Porsche Management the rear engine design of the 911 could remain, at a time when that was being questioned. Remarkably, that car which debuted nearly 30 years ago at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show, had both features and performance close to that of today’s 911. Porsche was so confident in the 959, they entered 2 in the 1986 Paris-Dakar Rally, with a 3rd to participate as a support vehicle. The 959s dominated with a 1-2 finish in arguably the world’s most punishing race, all within a year of the car’s debut. Even the support car took 6th!
Milk Chocolate, mixed nuts, dried stone fruit

Good stuff exactly like you describe it Dark Cherry 🍒 flavor.
Superb in every way!
First time trying it and I love it
dalar could be my new favourite. I have tried i think almost every option, but as of right now this is the new go to
The Dakar is a light to medium roast that pairs well with sweet eats, i.e. fruit or glazed scone/doughnut or add a small dab of flavored creamer to pair with a more hardy bacon and egg breakfast. Not as "robust" as advertised, but still a smooth, versatile bean to please on an everyday basis.
The packaging kicks ass too. Love the old oil can look with old Porsche graphics. Something I'll keep when the coffee is gone. Can't wait to try others in the Drive Coffee lineup. -djw
